Since its inception in 1973, Hollywood Racks has been a leading name in trunk-mounted bike racks, originating from a small bike shop in Hollywood, California. With a focus on quality and ease of use, Hollywood Racks quickly gained a stellar reputation, which led to expanding distribution to other bike shops across California.
By the late 1970s, Hollywood Racks caught the attention of major bicycle companies like Schwinn, Peugeot, and Nishiki. In 1981, the company shifted gears, closing the bike shop to open a dedicated car rack factory in Los Angeles. With increased demand, Hollywood Racks relocated to a larger facility in 1988.
The Hollywood Racks brand went global in 1989, exporting products to Europe, and throughout the 1990s, they diversified their offerings to include racks for trailer hitches, pickup trucks, and spare tires. Today, Hollywood Racks' headquarters, R&D, and US warehouse operate from a state-of-the-art facility in the Los Angeles area, while manufacturing takes place in Taiwan. Hollywood Racks products can be found in all 50 states and over 25 countries worldwide, solidifying its status as a global leader in bike racks.
